WHERE INTEGRITY OF CHARACTER COMES FIRST
Fitness and Boxing Training
Boxing Canada (LTAD)
The Boxing Canada LTAD sets out the process of an athlete’s participation in sport from the earliest acquisition of basic skills through participation in the Olympic Summer Games and beyond – “from playground to podium”. It is based on the participant’s developmental (both physiological and mental) age, rather than chronological age.
Boxing Canada has adapted the conceptual LTAD to the development of athletes in our sport.
Boxing Canada LTAD has the following stages:
- Active Start
- FUNdamentals
- Learn to Box
- Train to Box
- Train to Compete
- Train for Peak Performance
- Active for Life
Our Goal with the LTAD is to have a fully integrated system in place for our boxers to reach Olympic podium.
Our first step is to build and implement a boxing Long Term Athlete Development model.
Extreme Fitness
We have seen many athletes come to Bland's Boxing claiming to be in tip top shape and expecting to go through a boxing workout without breaking a sweat, however, quickly realizing why boxing is one of the toughest sports on the planet. Basic boxing training can be fun for anybody at various levels of fitness, but to become a competitive boxer requires, strength, speed, stamina, balance and extreme co-ordination that comes from hard work and dedication.
A combination between cross-fit and group circuit training along with one on one instruction will have you in great shape and feeling unstopable in a relatively short peroid of time when compared to working out at a traditional gym or even other forms of combat training. We have seen lives changed through the building of self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth. We are passionate about boxing, fitness and the sports ability to build character.
